Therapeutic Listening

The sound of a complementary therapy

Therapeutic Listening enhances other therapies by using the organized rhythmical sound patterns that are in all music to trigger the self-organizing capacities of the nervous system.

This therapy has been proven to have a positive impact on children who have a sensory processing dysfunction or issues with listening, attention, and communication.

At The Children’s Institute, we use Therapeutic Listening on an inpatient, outpatient and home program basis. An occupational therapist trained in this specific technique will create a program to suit the unique needs of each client.
