  • About the featured speaker:
In her 25+ years as a national adoption advocate and child welfare and adoption specialist, Connie Going has worked in prevention and reunification, actively facilitating more than 1,000 adoptions. In 2013, her efforts to assist 15-year-old Davion in his search for a forever family brought them to a church where he spoke about his desire to be adopted. When the story garnered international attention, the resulting influx of families interested in adoption became known as "the Davion Effect," resulting in the inquiry/match system that helps to ensure every inquiry for a child receives a timely response, while also holding the systems of care accountable for every child available for adoption. As a single parent to four young adults, two of which she adopted, Connie remains even more passionate about finding solutions that support and make a different in the lives of children of trauma and their families. She truly believes that everyone can make an impact.
