Growing Families through Adoption

There's nothing more amazing than finding a forever family. Image of two diverse families.

Our Saturday, April 4, 2020 Growing Families Through Adoption event is CANCELLED.
It is with much consideration we must cancel this special event. Our first priority at The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh is the health and safety of our amazing kids, their families, and our team members. In response to local, state, and federal health authorities, we are taking preventative measures to protect against the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Effective immediately, we are cancelling all of our public events and discontinuing all volunteer efforts in an effort to slow the spread of germs in our community. We will provide ongoing updates, and this restriction is until further notice. We will continue to monitor this situation and make the best decisions for our community. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you at next year's Growing Families Through Adoption event in 2021!

Emily Thornton, Kelly Hughes, and Heather LeVeck all adopted amazing kids through foster care. They have walked with their children through the challenges of adoption and learned the importance of holding space for children who have two families. For Emily, Kelly, and Heather - building bridges of communication and openness with their children's first families has helped with healing the the navigation of these challenges in an incredible way. They are passionate about sharing their stories and helping other families to build bridges as well.
